$50K Reward Offered In 2012 Murder Of Aspiring Musician

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A $50,000 reward was offered Wednesday for tips leading to the person who gunned down a man in the southwest Los Angeles area more than two years ago.

Tyree Rowe, 39, was fatally shot about 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, 2012, as he sat in a parked vehicle in the 1900 block of West 77th Street, Los Angeles police officials said.

There was no apparent motive for the murder, and detectives have exhausted all their leads in the case, according to the LAPD.

Rowe, an aspiring musician, is survived by his parents and siblings.

The reward is being offered by the Los Angeles City Council and is for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the suspect or suspects in the crime.

Anyone with more information on the case can call Detective Deana Stark at (213) 485-4341.
