Dodgers Fans Looking For A Little Home Field Advantage Despite The Heat
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Dodgers are in the playoffs so you won't too many fans complaining about the heat.
KCAL9's Jeff Nguyen reported that some people were more concerned with scoring tickets than the scorching temperatures.
Kazzie Hill drove for eight hours to Dodger Stadium from San Francisco Friday morning -- hoping to get a ticket for the Dodgers playoff game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
He ended up getting one for $80. A bargain considering many tickets were going for much more than that.
"I'm excited. Because driving down here, I wasn't sure. Driving down I heard sell out. Always way to the sign right here. Sell out. Sell out," said Hill.
On the field, the Dodgers sent out a Tweet showing the temperature on the field was well above a hundred degrees before game time.
That's why the Alvarado family came to the game with not one, not two, not three but four bags of beverages.
"We got wet towels. We just wet it and then it stays cool as long as it can. We got some spray bottles in case it gets hot. We got pizza and seeds because like who doesn't. We got many big water bottles here some sodas. Gatorade and a bunch more water," Alvarado said.
Fans have long memories.
Clayton Kershaw was on the mound last year when the Dodgers were eliminated from the post-season by the same team they're facing Friday.
"We've been waiting for a while because the Cardinals took us out last year. And so we want our revenge already," said Alvarado.
"I don't want revenge. I want the World Series! Cardinals are just a stepping stone on the way," said Jesse Garcia.
