Motorcyclist Arrested After 150 MPH Chase In, Around Palmdale

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com)   —  A motorcyclist who reached speeds of 150 mph during a chase Saturday was arrested and taken into custody in Palmdale.

The chase lasted a little more than 20 minutes, authorities said.

The suspect was originally wanted for speeding at about 110 mph, the CHP reported.

The chase began around 4:40 p.m. on State Route 138 at 80th Street, CHP Officer Alex Rubio said.

Authorities said the chase proceeded eastbound on route 138 to 151st Street, where the rider ended up on local streets, Rubio said.

The cyclist reportedly tried to flee on foot after abandoning the bike at Palm Vista Avenue and Avenue R-4, but he was quickly detained and arrested, the officer said.
