IE Man Fatally Shoots Estranged Wife In Jurupa Valley, Kills Himself
JURUPA VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — A man fatally shot his estranged wife in the Rubidoux community Saturday morning before killing himself in San Bernardino, authorities confirmed Sunday.
Avram Mateas shot two people at a residence in the 3000 block of Skylane Drive, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. Mateas' wife, Simona Mateas, 43, died after being transported to a hospital, while the second shooting victim, a man authorities have not identified, was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Avram Mateas then drove to San Bernardino, where he committed suicide. according to Riverside County sheriff's Cpl. Robert Martinez.
The Sheriff's Department said the Mateases were going through divorce proceedings.
