3 Arrested In Camarillo Kidnapping, Battery

CAMARILLO (CBSLA.com) — Deputies have arrested three men believed to have been involved in the kidnapping and beating of a Camarillo man that occurred in May, officials said Friday.

Jess Chambers, 20, of Camarillo; Sean Hendricks, 23, of Oxnard; and Eric Dean, 18, of Oxnard were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and battery causing serious bodily injury, the Ventura County Sheriff's Department said.

According to investigators, around 7 p.m. May 12, James Loft, 22, was physically attacked and forced out of his girlfriend's residence by two men in the 300 block of Westpark Court in Camarillo.

Authorities said Loft was violently forced into a vehicle waiting outside and was driven by a third man  to a secluded parking lot, where he was severely beaten.

Loft sustained a fractured jaw and multiple bruises during the attack.

During the investigation, "numerous witnesses were interviewed, search warrants were served and numerous items of evidentiary value were collected over the course of several weeks," Ventura County sheriff's Sgt. John J. Gleason said.

All three men were booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility after being taken into custody, deputies said.

It was unclear when the men were arrested.
