SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com) âÂ A Mercedes Benz driver who the CHP said attempted to ram them on Coldwater Canyon Avenue was shot at Friday evening but not hit.
The officer-involved shooting occurred just before 11 p.m. at Coldwater and Riverside Drive, the CHP said.READ MORE: School Bus Involved In Crash In Compton
The shooting happened after a brief pursuit, according to authorities.
Police set up a perimeter in the area looking for the male suspect.

On Saturday, the CHP identified the suspect as 43-year-old Melvin Anthony Slaughter of Northridge.
Authorities said Slaughter was apprehended after midnight while hiding in a residential property in the area of Whitsett Avenue and Weddington Street.
A female passenger was also detained. It was unclear if she was arrested.
