STUDIO CITY (KCAL9) — Brian Nguyen from BRIK Fitness stopped by KCAL9 Wednesday to share how he got stars in the new “Transformer”s movie into perfect shape for the action packed film.
Strength training is necessary whether your goals are fat loss or, in actress Nicola Peltz’s case, to look strong and lean and move with natural athleticism. It was her character’s job to jump, roll, dive, catch, and throw, so that’s exactly how she was trained — with a functional training regimen that includes these motions:
- “Self-limiting exercises” to improve her running form that wouldn’t make her too sore for filming.
- Interval training and functional training to achieve an athletic body
- Worked on her core to stabilize her
- Trained for 4 times a week for 5 weeks. She put on 8 pounds of muscle, lost 10 pounds of fat, her posture was improved and her midsection became more lean.
BRIK Fitness, in Redondo Beach, offers private or semi-private sessions and group classes with studio-wide challenges. This summer, they are offering “Bikini Body Challenge” and a “Skinny Jean Challenge”.
