Police In Thousand Oaks Hunt Suspect In Sexual Battery Of Woman Inside Movie Theater Restroom

THOUSAND OAKS (CBSLA.com)   — Police are looking for a man they say sexually battered a woman inside a Thousand Oaks movie theater restroom.

The alleged attack occurred last Friday evening, authorities said.

Police also believe the suspect went to the movies with a male friend. Authorities are circulating images of both men hoping someone in the public will recognize either. The friend was wearing a light blue polo shirt and white shorts. He spoke only Spanish with theater employees, officials said.

Deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Department were called to the Muvico Theatre on Hillcrest Drive just before 11:40 p.m. last Friday.

The victim reported that while she was in a bathroom stall, a man slid underneath the partition and sexually battered her.

After a brief struggle, the woman said she was able to escape the stall while the suspect fled the premises.

The suspect is described as Latino, about 5 feet 5 inches tall to 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 130-150 pounds.

The suspect has brown hair, brown eyes, medium to dark complexion. When last seen, he was wearing a grey hoodie and dark-colored jeans. The suspect was last seen getting into the passenger side of a black sedan.

Anyone with information about the suspect or his friend can call Detective Eric Taylor at (805) 947-8252.

Ventura County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 reward for information, which leads to the arrest and criminal complaint against the person(s) responsible for this crime. The caller may remain anonymous. The call is not recorded. Call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
