New Bloodhound Joins Riverside County Sheriff's Department

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — The Riverside County Sheriff's Department Wednesday introduced its newest member.

Windy, an 11-week-old bloodhound, has joined 28 other canine division members. She will be trained to find missing children, wounded hikers and criminals.

It usually takes a year for police dogs to become certified, but Windy is already displaying great bloodhound traits.

The department hopes to have her ready by October.

Anyone with questions was asked to contact Sgt. Anthony Williams at (951) 922-7100.
