Suspects Beat Man In Riverside Badly Enough To Warrant Attempted Homicide Investigation

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com)  — Authorities said a  group of suspects beat a man outside the Riverside Public Library so badly police are treating the assault as an attempted homicide.

Officers were dispatched at 8:40 p.m. Friday to 3581 Mission Inn Ave.

Firefighters at the scene told officers the victim was taken to a hospital with serious head trauma, Riverside police Sgt. Cliff Mason said.

Police confirmed the victim's injuries were life-threatening and determined the beating was an attempted homicide, Riverside police Lt. Russ Shubert said.

No one has been arrested.
