Councilman From Simi Valley Faces Possible DUI Charge

EL SEGUNDO — A city councilman from Simi Valley has been arrested in El Segundo on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Officials said Steven Sojka, 49, was arrested shortly after midnight on March 12 and was released from custody about eight hours later after posting $5,000 bail, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's online booking records.

Sojkja faces a misdemeanor charge and is due in court on June 17, according to the "Ventura County Star," which reported that Sojka has been a Simi Valley city councilman since 1998.
