Hollywood Hills Mountain Lion Caught On Camera In Late-Night Prowl

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A mountain lion has been caught on camera in an apparent late-night prowl through one Hollywood Hills neighborhood.

KNX 1070's Megan Goldsby reports the home security camera footage was captured during the early morning hours of March 5 near Hollyridge and Graciosa, about a half-mile from Griffith Park.

The grainy footage appears to show the mountain lion — who does not appear to be in any hurry — walking beside parked cars in the upscale neighborhood.

One resident, Shelly, said she's not at all comfortable with a mountain lion roaming around.

"I'm very concerned and I wanna know what they're going to do about it," she said. "If there was a dangerous criminal in the area, they would stop things and lock down until they caught it. I don't think this is any different."

It was not immediately known whether the cat is P-22, the same mountain lion who is currently being tracked with a radio collar by biologists with the National Park Service.

P-22 was captured in December in an amazing photograph from National Geographic in front of the Hollywood sign.
