PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — An 18-year-old man was charged Wednesday with murder in the fatal shooting of his live-in girlfriend in Pasadena.
JonJon Crummie is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in connection with the death of 19-year-old Irais Acosta, who was shot about 8:45 a.m. Sunday in a bedroom they shared at his parents’ Raymond Avenue home.READ MORE: Dodgers Set To Open NLCS Against Braves
Crummie was arrested about 4 p.m. Monday at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. Authorities said his mother facilitated the surrender after bringing him to the hospital, where he was detained by sheriff’s personnel until Pasadena police arrived.READ MORE: Water Main Break Forces Road Closure In Marina Del Rey
The charge against Crummie includes an allegation that he used a handgun. If convicted as charged, he faces up to 50 years to life in state prison, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
