Woman, 10 Cats Rescued From Lancaster House Fire

LANCASTER (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters Tuesday rescued a woman and ten cats from a house fire in the Antelope Valley.

The fire was reported around 11:40 p.m. at a home in the 300 block of East Lingard Street in Lancaster, the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Firefighters got the homeowner out safely and then went in to rescue roughly 20 cats.

Several of the felines needed oxygen after they were rescued.

Sadly, ten of the animals were killed in the fire, which was extinguished at 12:45 a.m.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
