GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a knife-wielding suspect, who was wounded in an officer-involved shooting in Garden Grove, is expected to recover.

The shooting occurred about 7:09 a.m. Sunday in the 9600 block of Teal Avenue, Garden Grove police said in a department statement.

The statement said authorities responded to a home following a report of a man with a knife threatening a family.

The wounded suspect, identified as a 30-year-old Vietnamese man, was taken to an area hospital where he underwent surgery. No officers were hurt.

The statement said the Orange County District Attorney's Office is expected to investigate.
