Parolee Charged With Pimping 15-Year-Old LA Girl In Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A Compton man on parole for robbery was charged Thursday with human trafficking for bringing a Los Angeles teenager to Orange County to engage in prostitution, Orange County District Attorney officials said.

Kenny Ray Mann, 25, was charged with one felony count each of human trafficking, pimping a minor and pandering with a minor under 16 years old by procuring, with sentencing enhancements for a 2008 prior strike conviction and prior robbery conviction. He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday.

Prosecutors say Mann met 15-year-old Jane Doe in mid-December in Los Angeles County and pimped her by having her work as a prostitute. On Dec. 30, Mann allegedly drove the girl to Orange County to have her work as a prostitute at a motel in an area of Anaheim known for prostitution.

An Anaheim police officer saw the girl outside the motel and determined she appeared to be both a prostitute and a minor, prosecutors said. Police say they saw the girl get out of a car registered in Mann's name.

Anaheim police made contact with the girl and Mann, who was allegedly identified as her pimp. Mann is also accused of posting advertisements featuring sex acts with her on website known for prostitution, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors say they will request Mann be held on $250,000 bail and be required to prove the money is from a legal and legitimate source before he can post bond. If convicted, Man faces a maximum sentence of 25 years in state prison.
