Public's Help Sought Identifying Jane Doe Injured In October Car Accident

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Police are asking for the public's help identifying a woman involved in a traffic collision in October.

Santa Ana police say officers were called to the scene of a crash involving a vehicle and a woman pushing a shopping cart at the intersection of 4th Street and Lacy Street in Santa Ana on October 15, 2013.

The pedestrian was rushed to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana in extremely critical condition and two-and-a-half months later remains fully dependent on the care of staff.

Officers have been unable to determine the woman's identity.

She is believed to be a resident of the area where the collision occurred.

Police say her fingerprints were compared in all local, state and federal identification databases, which did not return with any matches. She also did not match the description of any outstanding missing persons in Santa Ana.

Anyone who recognizes the woman is urged to contact Collision Investigator Bao at the Santa Ana Police Traffic Division at (714) 245-8214.
