Firefighters Contain 15-Acre Brush Fire Near Saugus

SAUGUS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a brush fire in the Santa Clarita Valley that blackened 15 acres and briefly threatened structures has been contained.

The wind-driven fire broke out at San Francisquito Canyon Road and Lowridge Place shortly after 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Shortly after erupting, a second-alarm response was called.

As of noon, firefighters reported that the blaze was holding at about 15 acres.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department also stated on its official Twitter account that a second-alarm response was canceled.
