LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — It may be chilly outside, but one City Councilman is hoping residents will come out Friday for the city’s 1st Annual Family Holiday Movie Night in Griffith Park.

KNX 1070’s Claudia Peschiutta reports Councilmember Tom LaBonge and his staff will host the free holiday event – and it’s all for a good cause.

LaBonge’s Council District Four office will be showing two holiday cartoon classics, “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” and “Twas The Night Before Christmas” on the grounds of the historic Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round, which will also be open for free.

“The music from the carousel will warm you up,” LaBonge said. “I remember as a child how cold it was sometimes going out to Christmas events.”
