Woman Stabbed To Death In Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE (CBSLA.com) —  A woman was stabbed to death in Hawthorne Friday morning.

KCAL9's Rachel Kim reports that a family member who lives nearby discovered the victim's body at 10:50 a.m. at an apartment in the 11900 block of Grevillea Avenue.

The woman, described to be in her mid-twenties, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities would not comment on whether a weapon was found, but were seen hauling away garbage bins.

A young boy, who was given permission to speak with KCAL9, described what he heard around 3 a.m.

"It was her and her boyfriend," Kevin Gomez said. "They used to live on Q, on top of my house. I have bunk beds, I sleep on the top, so I'm right next to the window. I could hear everything. I heard like, punches in the wall, and screams, like arguing."

L.A. County sheriff's detectives, however, said they don't have a suspect yet.

"We've spoken to the boyfriend briefly. I'm sure we'll be talking to him again, but again, we're not focusing on anybody as a suspect at this point," Det. Jeffrey Leslie said.
