Pomona Girl, 14, Shot In Chest

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — A 14-year-old girl was shot and wounded Saturday in Pomona.

Officials said the unidentified girl, a Pomona resident, was shot in the upper torso.

The shooting occurred just before 11 a.m. at Laurel Avenue and Currier Street.

The victim was flown to a Los Angeles hospital and is listed in stable condition.

A companion, age 15 to 20, fled the scene on a bicycle after the shooting, said officials. It was unclear if he was also struck by gunfire.

The two suspects, both Latinos, were last seen running westbound on Laurel.

The motive for the shooting is unknown, according to authorities.
