Human Remains Found At Bassett, Carson Water Treatment Plants ID'd

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Human remains that were discovered at two Los Angeles County water treatment plants in Bassett and Carson last month have been identified as a 27-year-old woman from the eastern San Gabriel Valley, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Authorities said Erin Lynn Cruz was last seen in the La Puente area the night of Oct. 23. Her cause of death has not been determined.

On Oct. 26, a human foot and calf were found in a separation pond at the Joint Water Pollution Control Plant in the 24500 block of South Figueroa Street in Carson.

A female torso was discovered two days later at the San Jose Creek Water Reclamation Plant in the 1900 block of Workman Mill Road in the unincorporated Bassett area.

A left arm was found at the Carson plant on Oct. 31.

Authorities asked anyone who saw Cruz after Oct. 23 to contact the sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
