KNX 1070’s Pete Demetriou reports the body of 78-year-old Joseph Gatto was found by his daughter in his Silver Lake home on Nov. 13.

Gatto, a former art teacher at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, had been shot in the abdomen in what the Los Angeles Police Department believes was a possible burglary gone wrong.

Family members, friends, and local political leaders including Councilman Tom LaBonge attended the service for Gatto, which was held at 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church.

“This is my neighborhood church, Mother of Good Counsel, and Joseph Gatto was a man of good counsel,” LaBonge said.
