Police Seek Man Who Tried To Kidnap Teen In San Gabriel

SAN GABRIEL (CBSLA.com) — Police need the public's help in identifying a man who tried to kidnap a 15-year-old girl on her way home from school last week in San Gabriel.

Around 3:30 p.m. Oct. 28, a student from Gabrielino High School, located at 1326 San Gabriel Blvd., took Public Transit Bus 20 from the school to the corner of San Gabriel Boulevard and Broadway, according to the L.A. County Sheriff's Department's Temple Station.

The victim exited the bus and walked eastbound on Broadway past Walnut Grove Avenue on the south side of the street.

Authorities said a driver inside a 2011 to 2013 white Toyota Camry 4-door abruptly pulled in front of the victim, blocked her path and tried to abduct her.

An unidentified person helped the victim get away.

Anyone with information on the crime was asked to contact Det. Rivera at (626) 292-3364.
