Suspect Wanted In Connection With 11 Auto Burglaries Near Torrance 24-Hour Fitness
TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday were searching for a suspect wanted in connection with 11 auto burglaries in Torrance.
During the crimes, which police say began July 24, the suspect smashed windows of SUVs and stole purses that were left in the vehicles while women were exercising at 24-Hour Fitness, 2685 Pacific Coast Hwy during the week.
The vehicles were parked on the second level of the parking structure at 24-Hour Fitness and the northwest parking lot at Wilson Park, 2200 Crenshaw Blvd.
The suspect was reportedly caught on camera while using the victims' credit cards.
Police say the he could be driving a black Toyota pickup truck or a black early 2000s Chevrolet Suburban SUIV with tinted windows.
