Child Among 2 Killed In Fontana 3-Car Collision

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — A man and a young girl were killed and at least four other people were injured Monday in a three-car collision, authorities said.

The accident took place just before 8:40 p.m. near the intersection of Citrus Avenue and Foothill Boulevard, according to San Bernardino County Fire officials.

Fontana Police are investigating if a maroon Dodge Durango ran a red light and crashed into the two other cars.

Witnesses told CBS2's Crystal Cruz the victims were a father and young daughter, but police were unable to confirm if the victims were related.

Dozens of people remained at the scene of the crash, which one witness described as feeling like an earthquake.

"The black car, smog was coming out of it," witness Valerie Lopez said. "All employees from the plaza, we all went up there trying to help; what we seen was there was no help we could make, they were gone."

At least four people were hospitalized following the accident. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Foothill Boulevard will remain closed from Citrus and Cypress avenues as police investigate the scene.
