Ramirez's X-Rays Come Back Negative On His Injured Ribs

ST. LOUIS (CBSLA.com/AP) --Don Mattingly announced that Hanley Ramirez's X-rays came back negative.

Ramirez was out of the Los Angeles Dodgers starting lineup for Game 2 of the NL championship series Saturday because of soreness to his ribs.

Ramirez was scratched about a half-hour before the first pitch with sore ribs. He was hit by a pitch in the first inning of the Game 1 loss.

Earlier in the day, Mattingly described Ramirez as "iffy" and said there might be a change prior to game time. Ramirez also made a leaping catch on a soft liner by Matt Holliday in the bottom of the first, then was bent over in the dugout while being treated by a trainer.

Just minutes before the game, Ramirez was taken to the Hospital to get X-rays on his ribs after he was unable to swing the bat.

Nick Punto started at shortstop.

The Dodgers have failed to score in 19 innings as they fall to the Cardinals, 1-0.
