90-Year-Old SoCal Woman Shares Her Secrets To Longevity

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — An energetic elderly Southland woman is sharing her secrets to longevity.

At 90 years young, nothing can stop Phyllis Sues.

"I'm really driven to be active. My body is an incredible instrument," she said.

The secret to Phyllis' energy? She does the tango, which is a dance she picked up in her 80s.

Phyllis practices with her partner, Felix, every week. The duo even showcased their moves on "The Queen Latifah Show."

"He has a lot of passion and he sends that to me. When we perform together, I think there is a wonderful, warm feeling between us," said Phyllis.

While tango is Phyllis' true passion, there are other hobbies she loves, such as yoga.

"I get up in the morning and immediately I do 45 minutes of yoga. Every day," she said.

Phyllis also plays the piano. She learned how to play in 2003 and has since composed and produced her own music.

In addition, Phyllis started her own fashion line at 50. At 70, she learned two new languages, and at 83, she flew on a trapeze.

"You just have to move. You have to move. Your body really wants to move. You were born to move!" Phyllis said.
