Inglewood Man, 23, Arrested In Murder Of His Mother

INGLEWOOD (CBSLA.com) — An Inglewood man faced murder charges Thursday in the death of his own mother.

Bryan Trujillo, 23, was arrested late Wednesday near the intersection of Lincoln and Venice boulevards, Inglewood police said,

According to authorities, police officers responded to the 4900 block of W. 97th Street around 12:40 p.m. for a battery report.

When they arrived on scene, officers discovered 39-year-old Emma Rodriguez lying in a pool of blood.

Witnesses told police they heard the victim and Trujillo having an argument before he left her home.

Rodriguez's body was later discovered on the floor of the home by a bystander.

"The victim suffered blunt force trauma to her head and body, " Sgt, Brian Spencer said.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Inglewood Homicide Detectives conducted an interviewed with Trujillo, where he confessed to killing his mother," Sgt. Spencer said.

He was being held on $1 million bail and was due in court Friday morning.

A motive for the murder was not released.
