Bryce Laspisa, of Laguna Niguel, was last heard from on Aug. 30 as he drove south from Northern California after breaking up with his girlfriend.

He told his family he was pulling over on the side of the road to rest.

The next morning, police found Laspisa’s Toyota Highlander overturned at Castaic Lake on the main boat launch access road with his cell phone, wallet and laptop inside.

The vehicle’s rear window was also broken and some blood was found inside the SUV.

“We just hope somebody can find him somewhere out there and he can come home to us,” his mother said at a vigil Monday.

Brian David, Laspisa’s uncle, told KCAL9’s Andrea Fujii the search has extended to Port Orford, Oregon, where two possible sightings were reported.

“There’s been a lot of interest from people in Port Orford” following the first sighting, and the search has been underway since, David said.

Volunteers, police divers and bloodhounds searched for Laspisa along Lake Hughes Road and in the Castaic Lake area for more than two weeks after Laspisa’s car was found.

On Sept. 18, Mike and Karen Laspisa announced on Facebook that they believe their son left the area following the crash.

After multiple possible sightings, volunteers searched other Southland locations with no success.

“We get the word of a possible sighting and you know, it brings you way up and then you find out, oh it’s not Bryce, and it brings you way down,” Laspisa’s uncle said.

The L.A. County Sheriff’s Department said they fear Laspisa may have sustained head trauma from the car crash and could be confused.
