Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (Sept. 30)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — After a warm and dry weekend, we are going to see things cool down for the bulk of this work week.

A ridge is flattening out and that will encourage the return of our on-shore flow. Look for some patchy low clouds to return to the coast this morning.

A trough intensifies through this work week and it will drop into the desert southwest in an "inside slider" fashion. This will translate into cooler temperatures and increased marine layer through Thursday...then late Thursday everything shifts.

We will experience an off-shore flow and we will start to see humidity levels drop and temperatures rise as high fire danger sets up for the weekend.  It looks like this high fire danger "event" will last through Saturday.

Basin - low 80s

Beaches - mid 70s

Valleys - upper 80s

Mountains - upper 60s

Deserts - upper 80s
