Police Give Chase To Stabbing Suspect Driving On Rims

CYPRESS (CBSLA.com) — Police chased a suspect in Cypress and Anaheim Friday evening after learning the man allegedly stabbed his wife and made off with the couple's children.

The chase began around 9 p.m.

Stu Mundel, reporting for Sky9, said the police applied a spike strip obliterating the suspect's tires.

At one point, it appeared all the tires were stripped and the driver was on his/her rims.

Early reports said it was possible there were children in the vehicle.

Two Sheriff's helicopters followed the chase from above, Mundel reported.

The chase came to an end when three police vehicles boxed the suspect in.

Two small children were pulled out of the vehicle at the end of the pursuit.

Anaheim Police Sgt. Bob Dunn said the suspect stabbed his wife before taking the couple's children.

Dunn said the woman's injuries are non-life threatening.

The children were not injured.
