Huntington Beach Man Sentenced In Sexual Assault Of 4-Year-Old Relative
HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A Huntington Beach man convicted of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old relative while babysitting was sentenced to 55 years to life in prison Friday.
Gordon Ray Bodkin was babysitting the victim in August 2011 when the assault occurred.
According to Deputy District Attorney Karyn Stoke, the child's father came to the home to pick up his daughter and found Bodkin standing over the girl wearing only a t-shirt. Her father interrupted the assault and Bodkin ran away with his clothing, prosecutors said.
Bodkin was convicted of two felony sex charges.
A motion for a new trial was denied before sentencing.
