'Strength In Support' Offers Counseling, Mentoring Programs For Military Members

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Former Marine Rory Self and Dr. Evan Fewsmith, executive director of Strength in Support, visited KCAL9 Wednesday.

Self discussed the stigma surrounding Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and shared how Strength in Support has helped him through counseling, mentorship and different education services.

SIS serves all military and family members, including active, non-active, reserve, guard, or veteran, from any branch of the military to address their challenges in a timely, competent, and supportive manner. All ages are welcome, and while no family will be turned away, most are low-income. SIS structures its programs on three pillars: counseling, mentorship and educational workshops.
