Boy, 10, Dies Following Golf Cart Accident

BEVERLY PARK (CBSLA.com) — A 10-year-old boy has died after being hospitalized with a severe head injury he suffered in a golf cart crash, the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office said Monday.

Mark Martinez was injured Sunday afternoon in the upscale Beverly Park community, the coroner confirmed.

The boy was riding in a modified golf cart, which travels faster than a typical golf cart, when it tipped over and rolled over on top of him, KNX 1070's Pete Demetriou reported.
