Man, 21, Arrested In Stabbing Death Of Lake Forest Woman
LAKE FOREST (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday were investigating the stabbing death of a 66-year-old woman whose body was found inside a Lake Forest home.
Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock said deputies responded to a residence on Blazewood near Portola and Alton parkways about 11:20 a.m. following a call of unknown trouble.
Upon arriving on scene, deputies found a deceased female.
Detectives later arrested 21-year-old Oscar Luis Morlett, who they said killed the victim and took off.
Neighbors told KCAL9's Stacey Butler that Morlett was the woman's stepson. They said he was involved with drugs, recently out of work and was just released from a psychiatric hospital.
Just two days ago, a robbery in progress was reported on the same street, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department Blotter. It's not clear whether that incident was at all related.
