BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — A driver was arrested Tuesday after ramming their car through an airfield gate at Bob Hope Airport.

Shortly before 10 p.m., the driver plowed through a gate on Empire Avenue.

Police held the driver at gunpoint before placing the person under arrest on DUI charges.

The driver, whose name and age were not immediately available, was not trying to gain access to the secure part of the airport, Burbank police Lt. Matthew Ferguson said.

No flights were affected by the incident.
