Dodger Fans Keep Cool With Frozen Beer

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Dodger fans have a new way to keep cool this summer—frozen beer!

Fans at Thursday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies were invited to quench their thirst with an ice-cold innovation.

The beer, from Kirin Brewery of America, is topped with a cap of frozen beer foam that's meant to keep the beverage chilled for 30 minutes.

The company uses a patented technology that blows air into the beer as it is continuously stirred and chilled.

"It keeps the beer colder for half an hour and we want the customers to enjoy the new texture, this new, very interesting texture of beer," said Tatsuki Hirai, the regional sales manager for Kirin.

If you can't make it to Chavez Ravine, the special brew is also available at select locations in downtown Los Angeles.
