Clippers In Final Negotiations To Hire Byron Scott
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) - The Los Angeles Clippers and former Cavaliers head coach Byron Scott are in final negotiations to hire their new head coach, according to a report by ESPN.
The report also indicates that the team did not take any action with former Laker and Pacers assistant Brian Shaw or former Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins.
The Cavaliers fired Scott after going 24-58 in his last season with the team.
If Scott is hired, he will reunite with Chris Paul as he coached him throughout most of his career with the New Orleans Hornets.
The Clippers initially wanted to bring Celtics head coach Doc Rivers, but commissioner David Stern nixed the deal, saying coaches can not be traded with player or cash involvement.
