LA Doctor, 58, Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Female Patients

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 58-year-old Los Angeles doctor has been accused of sexually assaulting four female patients.

Dr. Steve Leong was arrested at his Arcadia home May 31 and was booked at the Temple Sheriff's Station. He was later charged with six misdemeanor counts of false imprisonment, four misdemeanor counts of sexual battery and five misdemeanor counts of battery, according to the Los Angeles city attorney's office.

Leong is currently jailed on $150,000 bail.

The victims, all Spanish-speaking women, reported that the doctor took them into an examination room at Claude Hudson Medical Center, located at 2829 S. Grand Avenue, and forcefully kissed and grabbed them.

Detectives said the alleged assaults took place from Dec. 2010 to Feb. 2013.

Authorities believe Leong may have victimized other patients.

Anyone with additional information about the case was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-LASD.
