Health Care Workers Travel To Sacramento For Affordable, Quality Care
WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Dozens of doctors, health care workers and patients traveled to Sacramento Tuesday to rally for quality health care.
The group boarded buses bound for Northern California around 6 a.m. and will join hundreds of others for the We Care For California rally in support of two state bills.
Health care workers are demanding that the nation's leaders, including Gov. Jerry Brown, provide affordable, quality care.
Despite the state's improved budget outlook, protestors say Brown's budget includes roughly $1 billion per year in Medi-Cal provider rate cuts.
Senate Bill 640 and Assembly Bill 900 would stop the $1 billion cut to the Medi-Cal program.
