Coroner Releases Identity Of Man Fatally Shot In East LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Monday released the identity of a man who was fatally shot in East Los Angeles.

The coroner's office identified the victim as 24-year-old Antonio Rojas-Perez of Los Angeles.

Investigators say Rojas-Perez was shot in the 4200 block of East First Street about 11:16 p.m. Saturday.

"The victim was shot once in the upper torso by an unknown suspect," Deputy Tony Moore of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said. "The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced
Dead."

Authorities asked anyone with more information about the shooting to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500 or "Crime Stoppers" at (800) 222-TIPS (8477)
