Suspected Skateboarding Creeper Arrested

TORRANCE (CBSLA.com) — A 19-year-old Harbor City man believed to be the "Skater Office Creeper" behind at least eight thefts in six weeks was arrested Thursday.

Police arrested Ryan Nicholas Stupnik after he was stopped for his resemblance to a composite sketch released April 22. Witnesses said the teen, suspected of stealing wallets, purses and portable electronics from open offices and unlocked apartments, rode or carried a skateboard. Police believe Stupnik gained access to buildings by entering when he saw others leaving.

Stupnik is due in court May 15.

Anyone believed to have been victimized by the suspect is asked to contact police: (310)328-3456
