Police Bust 2 For Helping Run Chop Shop In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Pomona Police have arrested two men on suspicion of having involvement in an illegal chop shop operation.

In a written release, police said they received information from a confidential informant that stolen vehicle parts and other property could be located at 1124 Price Street.

Officers responded to the location Saturday around 1:45 p.m. where they said several male subjects fled.

One of the subjects reportedly attempted to avoid capture by going onto the building's roof.

Two men were arrested. They have been identified as 37-year-old Hijinio Arroyo of Glendora and 33-year-old Gabriel Mejia of Covina. Both are being held in the Pomona Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Authorities said they found several vehicles in various states of being dismantled. At least three of the vehicles had been reported stolen.

Officials said a stolen gun was also recovered during a search.
