Actress Ashley Greene's Dog Dies In West Hollywood Apartment Fire

WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — "Twilight" actress Ashley Greene's dog was killed Friday in a fire that damaged her West Hollywood apartment, according to KNX1070's Vytas Safronikas

Firefighters responded around 9:45 a.m. to Granville Towers, a seven-story apartment complex in the 1400 block of N. Crescent Heights.

Smoke could be seen billowing from apartment 31 in the historic building, which has housed Hollywood legends such as Marilyn Monroe and Rock Hudson.

"I saw the smoke and the fire and my neighbor knocked on my door and everyone ran," resident Chris Rice said.

The flames were extinguished in 18 minutes.

"The fire was limited to the room of origin," Tony Imbrenda of the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

Greene and two others were able to escape with one of her two dogs.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. A damage estimate was unavailable.
