KNX 1070's Margaret Carrero Wins Gracie Award
LOS ANGELES (KNX 1070) — KNX 1070 NEWSRADIO's Margaret Carrero has been honored with a 2013 Gracie Award for her series on the anniversary of the Los Angeles riots.
Carrero, who wrote and produced "Tales of the LA Riots", was given the award Wednesday.
"Tales of the L.A. Riots" looks back at the events that fueled the civil unrest that erupted in 1992, marking the 20th anniversary of one of the darkest chapters in Los Angeles history.
The Gracies, awarded by the Alliance for Women in Media, recognize exemplary programming created for women, by women and about women in all facets of electronic media, as well as individuals who have made contributions to the industry.
KNX 1070 has won more awards for broadcast excellence in its 45 year history than any radio station in the West.
