"She passed a gentleman fitting his description standing near the back of the jail. He said 'Good morning' to her, he was very cordial . . .  When she went inside to her module, she saw that he did resemble Mr. Dorner," Cmdr. Paul Pietrantoni said.

Authorities took extra precautions because Dorner's ex-wife works at the jail as a narcotics officer.

Officials blocked off the streets around the jail, located at 450 Bauchet Street, as Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputies patrolled the area.

The jail was placed on containment as a precaution. Deputies were seen standing in riot gear outside the facility.

The lockdown was later lifted after authorities determined the report was unfounded.
