CARSON ( — A Carson preschool was shut down by state regulators in the wake of allegations that children engaged in sexual acts with each other on school grounds.

The First Lutheran Child Development Center was originally scheduled to close Friday after its director resigned for personal reasons, but the California Department of Social Services ordered a temporary suspension order on Wednesday.

At least six parents have sued the preschool after they learned their kids reportedly participated in oral sex acts.

The parents claim staff members failed to supervise the students.
