Riverside Police Arrest Suspect Wanted For Assaults On Elderly Woman

RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — Riverside Police announced the arrest Saturday of a man wanted in connection with at least three assaults on elderly women.

Officials said they spotted 37-year-old Charles Polk Jr., in the vicinity of La Sierra Avenue and Indiana Avene.

A black male and Riverside resident, Polk fit the general description of the suspect. Police said they detained him about 10:30 Saturday morning.

Polk is wanted as the suspect in an assault of a 90-year-old woman in the 8500 block of Magnolia Avenue this past Thursday. The suspect is also believed to have assaulted an 86-year-old woman in the 11100 block of Montlake Drive last week. A third break-in occurred in the same vicinity.

Police said in all the cases, the victims were unharmed. In one incident, police said Polk tried to kiss one of the women.

After questioning, Polk was arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center. He's accused of burglary, probation violation, sexual assault and drug possession.

His bail has been set at $1 million.
