Woman Violently Robbed In Laguna Beach Gets A Helping Hand

LAGUNA BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Various organizations are reaching out to an Orange County woman who was violently robbed several weeks ago.

On Dec. 8, the victim was walking from a Laguna Beach salon, where she works as a hair stylist, to her car in a parking garage. She was confronted by two men, armed with airsoft guns, who demanded her wallet.

The woman continued walking to her car, prompting the men to step forward, press a gun into her back and fire.

The robbers grabbed her purse and dragged her to the back of her car, where she fought them off.

The men ran off with her purse, making off with $100 -- which was all she had that month for groceries -- and her brand new cell phone.

The woman suffered a serious welt on her back from the gunshot.

Two of the officers who spoke with the victim that night gave her $100 of their own money so she could buy groceries.

The Laguna Beach Police Employees Association said, "in the spirit of this holiday season," they helped replace the woman's cell phone thanks to a donation from Boost Mobile. They plan on delivering the phone to her Christmas Day.

LBPEA representatives also contacted Crime Survivors, a non-profit O.C. organization that aids in the recovery of crime victims, who made their counseling, medical and financial services available to the woman.
